Individual tour to Saint Basil (in the Red Square)
The Cathedral of Intercession of the Holy Virgin, also known as St. Basil the Blessed Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox church and also a branch of State History Museum. Now it is one of the symbols of Moscow and Russia and is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The cathedral was built in 1555-1561 by the order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible to commemorate the conquest of Kazan. It consists of ten churches connected by passages. According to the legend, the two architects, Barma and Postnik, were made blind by the tsar’s order, so that they could not build anything like it anywhere. But that is just a legend. Why has the cathedral got the name of St. Basil? Basil the Blessed lived at the times of Ivan the Terrible and, according to another legend, foretold the victory over tartars. He was buried near the Cathedral and when you face the entrance, you can see the church built over his grave on your left. All this and other interesting facts you will hear from our guides.
